The choir was formed in 1976 to introduce and incorporate Gospel music into the celebration of the Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Alexandria. The ensemble has compiled a wide repertoire of music, consisting of spirtuals, hymns, anthems, and traditional and contemporary gospel.
